Accountability
Knowing exactly what one is supposed to produce, understanding the importance of one’s production and being properly trained to get that product raises morale, efficiency and longevity amongst workers.
Both the manager and the employee need to know exactly what the person on the post is supposed to produce. Once the product of each position is clearly defined and made known to the group, each staff member knows what to expect from the others. It is at this point one can be held accountable for his or her product. Promotions and raises can be given on the basis of actual production and contribution, which can be clearly measured and shown. It ends up relieving stress in the office, as everyone clearly knows who is responsible for what and who is carrying their weight. The staff prefers this type of management because it clearly defines what their responsibilities are. It clearly shows their production and takes all the guesswork of the management of the practice. As a result, the staff operates as a team working together with the doctor to achieve the goals of the practice.
